This week’s accomplishment: Mendoza helped Sultana rally for a 34-27 win against Norte Vista on Friday. The Sultana senior quarterback ran for the winning touchdown with about two minutes left and converted the two-point conversion with a pass. He was 6 of 15 for 74 yards through the air and carried the ball 12 times for 113 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
What do you like most about your sport: It’s extremely competitive, and the bonds it creates with teammates on and off the field.
How long have you been playing your sport and how did you get started: I’ve been playing football for 10 years, and my parents pretty much bribed me.

Most memorable sports moment: Hitting a walk off home run during an All-Star tournament.
If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be and why: Kevin Durant, because I always wanted to be good at basketball.
