Pistons renounce KCP; Nets, Lakers could have interest
The Detroit Pistons are renouncing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope just hours after landing Avery Bradley in a trade from the Celtics, ESPN reports. The move makes him an unrestricted free agent where he could have a robust market after averaging 13.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last season for the Pistons.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Brooklyn Nets could be a contender to land Caldwell-Pope, should the Wizards match Otto Porter. The Los Angeles Lakers could also be interested in acquiring him if he were to take a one-year “balloon deal,” Wojnarowski reports. (Updated July 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET)
