Corrections Officer Reportedly Beaten With Bat By Her 18 Year Old Son

A female corrections officer was found beaten with a baseball bat, and police said on Wednesday they have her 18 year -old son in custody as a suspect.

Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said at about 8:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of an assault call at Friendly Village Mobile Home Park in Anaheim, on La Palma Ave. When they arrived they reportedly saw a young man running away.

CBS Los Angeles reports that Karen White was found by responding officers suffering from what appeared to be blunt force trauma.  She was listed in critical condition after being transported to a hospital.

The victim works for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a peace officer.

White’s 18-year-old son, Seth, later turned himself in and now he faces charges for attempted murder.
