Marreese Speights signed with the Clippers to provide a scoring punch off the bench and give them some solid big man depth. While he did provide some of that his time with the Clippers was pretty underwhelming. He never quite gave Los Angeles what they were looking for and at times his fit seemed awkward.
Speights must have felt the same way, because he has opted out of his contract with Los Angeles after only one season. He averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in his lone season with the Clippers. He also, for the first time in his career, played every single game of the season.
