This week’s accomplishment: Kiecolt and Rojas teamed up to win all six of their sets, helping the Bulldogs advance to the quarterfinals of the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 playoffs. On Wednesday they swept 6-4, 6-0, 6-1 against Highland. On Friday, they won 7-6 (6), 6-1, 6-1 against Hemet.
What do you like most about your sport: I like the fact that no matter how hard you work or how hard you try, if you don’t have the right mentality you’ll never prosper or be successful.
How long have you been playing your sport and how did you get started: I’ve been playing for three years now. What made me decide to start playing was my friend Luis Hurtado told me to try it and I instantly feel in love with the sport.
Pregame ritual: Before every match I like to clear my thoughts and focus on what I have to do to help my team succeed.
Most memorable sports moment: Making it to the quarterfinals of CIF this year after losing five key seniors last year.
If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be and why: I would be Roger Federer so that I could see what it feels like to be the best tennis player alive.
Something most people don’t know about you: I can speak, read and write in Arabic.
How would you spend $1 million: First, I would pay for my college then pay back my parents for everything they’ve done for me and with the rest I’d buy tennis rackets and gear.
Where would you go if you could travel anywhere in the world: I would go to New York because Times Square looks so beautiful.
If you had an extra hour every day, how would you spend it: I would spend it with family or friends.
What superpower do you wish you had: Super speed
