Car Crashes Into Aquaduct In Hesperia Killing Mother & Son

Just before 7 p.m. Thursday evening sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a car accident at Main Street and Escondido Ave., in Hesperia. As they arrived on scene, Swift Water Rescue Team members found the crashed the Volkswagen in the aqueduct.

As of Friday morning a 10-year-old boy remained hospitalized for the injuries he received in the deadly car crash.

CBS2’s Greg Mills reported that 31-year-old Christina Estrada and 3 year-old Jeremiah Abbott were two of the crash victims. The female was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the young boys was ejected from the vehicle. The other child was found by authorities inside of the car. Both were transported to a local trauma center.

As of Friday morning, a 2-year-old child remained unaccounted for.

The vehicle has been removed from the aquaduct, and the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
